I was talking to a member of The Inner Circle today and he was telling me about his desire to open a branch office in another location.
“I don’t think you should name the firm after yourself,” I said. “What if you want to sell it one day?”
“I’m never selling it,” he said. “Never. I’ll work until it’s all over.”
“Okay,” I said. “What happens when you die? Would you want all of that hard work to go to waste, or would you want your family to be able to sell the firm for top dollar and benefit your family for generations?”

You may be like this guy. You may never want to sell. But you must know you don’t always get to make the decisions.
