I Want It

The Power of Asking

I have been looking for people to interview for the podcast, and for a long time I wasn’t getting anywhere with it. Turns out I just wasn’t asking. The moment I started asking I started booking people for the show. If you aren’t getting any new business or any referral business, you may want to look in the mirror at yourself. Are you making the ask? And, while I’m at it, let me make two asks. First, are you a successful lawyer that wants to talk about their law firm and entrepreneurship. Or, are you someone that helps people succeed with their businesses? Email me and I’ll put you on the show. Second, are you a struggling lawyer that wants to take your business or career to the next level? Then get on my newsletter list. I guarantee you it will change your life. There, that wasn’t so hard, was it?

The Perfect Time to Plant a Tree…

is 20 years ago. The second best time is today. That’s an old Chinese Proverb, I believe, and it’s words are still true today. Yes, it’s easy to look back and regret what we have yet to do. Or we could just buck up and get started today. There’s another way that old saying could go too. It would be something like: The perfect time to plant a tree would be today, the easiest time would be in a week. Just replace “tree” with whatever your New Year’s resolution is. The perfect time to start is now, but it’s so much easier to see it being done in the future (before any of the work is put in). Starting and building a successful law firm isn’t easy. Marketing a law firm requires work. You might as well get started today. I’ve decided for 2015 I’m going to blog every day. It’s going to suck. It’s going to be hard. There […]

How to Write the Perfect Law Firm Blog Post

The perfect blog post starts with an introduction of the post, right after a great image (I picked the one above because it represents perfection for me. I always try to keep the width at 700×300). The introduction sets the tone, and should have something that draws the reader in. For example, I’m writing this post to use as an example in my course Be Everywhere Blueprint, which you have to be a member of Law Firm Confidential to get. I created this course, and this post, because I know that for many of us, we know we should be blogging, but we aren’t really sure what to do to make it work. This article will at least get you past the first stage – presenting something to your potential clients that makes them want to call you. Your Next Heading Should Answer the “What” of Your Post The heading for this section has one goal – to get people […]

LFMM 083: What’s the Deal with Infographics?

For #askchris 002 we’ve got a question from Adam: I’d really like to know more about infographics- they seem to be all the rage. However, buying a professional one is crazy expensive. Secondly, how should they be used properly to get good quality back links. To see the answer, check out the video below! [leadplayer_vid id=”5476D9A78C5A3″]

LFMM 082: Preston Clark of Law Insider

In this episode of the Law Firm Marketing Mastery Podcast I speak with Law Insider founder Preston Clark. One of the cool things about Preston is he’s taken his law firm education and applied it outside of the legal field. Yes, he was a lawyer for a bit, but soon after entering the real world realized his passion was elsewhere (he talks all about this in the interview). What Preston does have is a wealth of knowledge for marketing and sales. And he was kind enough to share his best stuff with us. Hit the play button. You won’t be sorry. LFMM 081: If I Could Change One Thing…

In this episode of the Law Firm Marketing Mastery Podcast I answer a reader question. That question is: If I could go back in time and change one thing I did when I opened my law firm, what would it be? If you want the answer, all you have to do is click the play button! LFMM 080: 5K Law Firm Startup

I got an email the other day from Wayne. Wayne wanted to know what I’d do if I had $5,000 and had to start a law firm all over again. Instead of just telling Wayne, I thought I’d tell all of you. It just seemed like the right thing to do. The funny thing about this question is that when I originally started my firm in 2009 I started with exactly $5,000 (I talk about it in the podcast – listen if you want the details). 5K Law Firm Startup [leadplayer_vid id=”5469AD193D467″] Show Notes These show notes are actually important because I talked about a bunch of stuff that I’d be using if I were starting a law firm again (and I know a ton of you want to know how to start a law firm). LFMM 079: Law Firm SEO Explained

You can’t even think about starting a law firm without hearing someone talk about law firm SEO. It’s the buzzword of the decade. But, for all the talk of SEO, there aren’t very many people out there who know what it is or how it works. Today I’m here to pull back the curtain, at least about what I know about it. Law Firm SEO Experience The cool thing about my experience with SEO is that I got into it before I even opened my law firm. It’s fair to say I was a little bit of an internet marketer back in the day. That means I would target a keyword (think cufflinks), I would build a website for that keyword, I would create traffic for that website (this is where SEO came into play) and then I would sell stuff on the site. That is pretty much what we do today, right? We offer legal services and we want […]

LFMM 078: Miami Business Attorney Brett Trembly

I’ve been asking for successful attorneys to come onto this show since I started it all those years ago. And only a few have raised their hands and volunteered their time to tell their story. Today, I’m happy to introduce you to another. What I most enjoyed about this interview was Brett’s honesty. He didn’t pull any punches when talking about his journey. Successes, challenges, good times and bad, he shared it all. I can’t wait for you to hear it. Brett Trembly, Miami Business Attorney [leadplayer_vid id=”54607EB8695DA”] It is my pleasure to introduce today’s guest on the show, a life long entrepreneur who has turned that passion into starting and building a successful Miami law firm focusing on helping other business reach the heights of success. I met our guest via Marc Cerniglia, a recent guest on the show. When we finished up I asked him if he could give me some names of lawyers that were killing it […]
